What should it check and draft?

Check agreed coordination issues across drawing sheets and specifications. Get findings with sheet references and draft RFIs for your engineer.

One drawing set includes up to 150 drawing sheets and 400 specification pages.

Your project engineer approves and sends every RFI. It never issues RFIs to the architect or engineer, changes the design or approves work.

What is included

Check agreed issue types across the uploaded drawing set and specification, then draft RFIs in your template with source references.

Choose the disciplines and issue types to check. Provide the current issued set, specification and past resolved RFIs; this is not a complete design or code-compliance review.

Drawing sheets: up to 150 sheets.

Specification pages: up to 400 pages.

RFI drafts: up to 30 drafts.

Input budget: up to 2,700,000 tokens.

Output budget: up to 248,000 tokens.

Attempts per stage: up to 2 attempts.

How reliable should the findings and draft RFIs be?

More findings are not better. Set how many known issues it should find, how many findings must be real and how reliably each one points to the right sheet and detail.

How these standards are measured

Test on held-out past drawing sets where your team already raised RFIs, and on sets with known coordination problems added on purpose. Measure known issues found separately from how many findings your project engineers confirm. A finding or draft RFI without the right sheet and detail reference counts as a failure. Use independent reviewer labels, not the workflow's own output. Holding every item cannot pass the accuracy targets. Check citations against the current source version. Any unauthorised write or release fails the pilot.

Targets for your selected standard
What is checkedTarget
Known issues foundKnown coordination issues in the test sets, from RFIs your team raised and issues added on purpose, that receive a correct finding, divided by all known issues. A vague finding does not count.≥70%
Findings confirmedFindings your project engineers confirm as real issues worth an RFI or a note, divided by all findings on the test sets.≥70%
Correct sheet and detail referencesFindings and draft RFIs whose sheet numbers, detail callouts and specification sections point to the right places, divided by all findings and draft RFIs.≥95%
Draft RFIs usable with light editsDraft RFIs for confirmed findings that your project engineers approve with light edits or none, divided by all draft RFIs for confirmed findings.≥80%
Approval controls passNo unapproved send, stamp, bid, status change or overwrite. A source change cancels a pending approval. Test malicious document instructions and repeated requests.≥100%

Findings and draft RFIs are questions for your project engineer, not design decisions. The architect and engineers of record answer RFIs and remain responsible for the design.

How quickly should the findings be ready?

Choose how soon after a drawing set is uploaded or issued the findings and draft RFIs are ready. Your project engineer's review time is separate.

Timing details

Time from a complete drawing set and project manual to stored findings and draft RFIs, including sheet reading, cross checks, drafting, queueing and retries. Very large sets may need agreed limits. Confirm set sizes and hardware with your provider.

The target applies to at least 95% of agreed test runs, with 2 in progress at a time.

How much do you want to spend per drawing set?

Set the AI processing budget for reading and checking each drawing set.

Cost details

Includes model calls for sheet reading, specification reading, cross checks and RFI drafting, retries and a shared hosting allocation. Document system licences, your project engineers' time and the calling agent are separate. Each new revision or addendum is another run.

Reference machine cost: $11.96 – 16.96 per drawing set at 8 drawing sets a month. The selected cap is a target to test, not a replacement for this estimate.

Where do you want it to run?

Keep drawings and specifications in your cloud or on your own server. Choose whether sheet images may go to an approved AI service.

Data and access details

Runs in a cloud account you control, with access controls and logs.

Only the sheet images, sheet text and specification pages being checked go to the selected external model. Agree access and retention first.

Limit access to the project team, keep a record of every finding, every draft RFI and who approved it, and keep drawings for secure or sensitive buildings out of any external service if your contract requires it. Private model only keeps sheet images on your hardware; the workflow can still connect to your own document system.

How do you want to use it?

Choose where you want to use it. You can select more than one.

Anything else your provider should know?

Optional. Your choices are included automatically.

Common questions

Do I need this if a hosted drawing review tool already works for us?

Not necessarily. If a hosted drawing review service is allowed to read your drawings and its findings fit how your team writes RFIs, use it. Buy a workflow when drawings must stay in your environment, you want RFIs in your own template and system, or you need checks a service does not offer.

Will it send RFIs to the architect?

No. It drafts RFIs for your project engineer. Your engineer decides which to send and sends them from your usual system.

Do we need a BIM model, or can it read PDF sets?

It reads PDF drawing sets and the project manual. Checking a BIM model as well is a separate requirement to agree with your provider.

Will it suggest how to fix the design?

It states the conflict and asks the question, with the sheets that disagree. Proposing a fix is left to your engineer and the design team, who are responsible for the design.

How do we stop it from flooding us with findings?

Set a confirmed-findings target, tell it to ask rather than guess when a referenced sheet is missing, and review which checks produce findings your engineers reject.

Can I run it without sending drawings to an external AI service?

Yes. Choose a private model and supply your own hardware. Measure reading quality and running cost on your own sets during the pilot.
