Build a Windows Excel task menu that automatically moves rows by status
Project brief
I need an experienced Excel/VBA developer for one small desktop-Windows workbook, built directly from a blank file.
One sheet, with a Status dropdown in column A. Changing it must move the entire task row in this order: - 1 Priority: pale yellow. - 2 Optional: pale blue. - 3 Waiting: pale pink/red. - Blank Unassigned: no fill. - 4 Completed: pale grey.
Keep text black and preserve every row's data and formulas, including time estimates and their total. Use Worksheet_Change; new rows must work without extending ranges or copying code. No cloud services, add-ins, external database, APIs or AI integration. Agree the ordinary data columns first.
Deliverables & acceptance
What you'll deliver
- Working .xlsm with two newly added dummy rows retained and Windows Excel test evidence.
What the result must meet
- On both new rows, test statuses1-4 and clearing to blank: order, colour, data and formulas remain correct.
- Repeat after save/close/reopen and enabling macros; adding further rows requires no code, range or structural repair.
