Build a small stock tracker with login and low-stock alerts
Project brief
A spreadsheet is becoming difficult to keep current. We want a simple inventory web app that one or two people can use to see stock in one place. This is a new build, not a repair to an existing dashboard.
Build an email/password login, an inventory list, and an add/edit/delete form. Each item should have a name, SKU, quantity, category, price and its own low-stock threshold. The list needs search by item name or category and a visible low-stock state when quantity falls below the threshold. Use React, Node/Express and MongoDB, with a responsive layout for desktop and mobile.
Please deliver runnable source and short setup instructions. We will confirm example inventory fields and any optional visual assets before work begins; plain styling is acceptable. Hosting on a custom domain and sales/order tracking are outside this task.

What you'll deliver
- Working React, Express and MongoDB source with email/password login, inventory CRUD, search and low-stock highlighting.
- Short README explaining local setup, environment variables and how to run the app.
What the result must meet
- A user can log in and add, edit and delete inventory items with the agreed fields; unauthenticated access is blocked.
- Items below their own threshold are highlighted, and name/category search returns the expected items.
- Core flows work in desktop and mobile browser sizes without console errors; one reasonable revision round is included.
