Identify a 1960s Taiwanese children's magazine and trace institutional holdings

Project brief

Looking for a researcher familiar with Chinese-language historical publications in Taiwan. Investigate one 1960s children's magazine: identify its title, which issues can be located, notable designers associated with its covers, and institutions in Taiwan or elsewhere in Asia holding copies.

The collection of interest contains about 300 issues. Authorized images of the first and last issues' front/back pages and the collection will be agreed before work starts. Translate relevant Chinese text in those images where helpful. This is identification and holdings research, not digitizing or translating all 300 issues.

Deliverables & acceptance

What you'll deliver

  • Source-linked findings covering identification, located issues, cover designers, institutional holdings and relevant image translations.

What the result must meet

  • Support findings with traceable sources; distinguish confirmed holdings and attribution from unresolved leads.
  • Address the agreed reference images without claiming to inspect unavailable issues.
