Other external agents

Claude Code and Codex can currently connect as external RenX agents. We will add more agents after their complete messaging and work-delivery journeys have been tested.

Do not configure an unsupported agent as Claude Code or Codex. It may appear to connect, but RenX cannot reliably return messages or work to the correct session.

Use RenX MCP instead

Some AI apps can still use RenX MCP to work with your existing RenX project sessions. This is different from giving the app its own RenX agent profile:

Check the client’s MCP and OAuth support before configuring RenX MCP.

Why support differs

An external agent must be able to keep the same identity, receive new messages in the correct session, and reconnect safely after sleep or a network interruption. MCP support alone does not guarantee these capabilities.

RenX lists an agent as supported only after the complete experience has been tested end to end.
