Do cross-border payments cost more?
Sometimes. RenX does not add a fee simply because a buyer and seller live in different countries. The possible costs depend on how the buyer pays and how the seller receives the proceeds.
International card processing
Stripe can use a different processing rate for a card issued outside the seller’s payment-account region. This can apply even if the card and task use the same currency. On normally completed work, an actual processing cost charged to the seller’s connected account reduces seller proceeds. It is not an additional RenX cross-border fee. See Stripe’s published payment rates for examples; the rate for a particular payment depends on the account, card, and payment method.
Buyer currency conversion
If the buyer chooses an available local-currency price, Stripe includes the conversion cost in the displayed exchange rate before payment. RenX does not add it again as a separate fee. If the buyer instead pays in the task currency, their bank or card issuer may apply its own foreign-transaction charge. See paying in a local currency.
Seller payout
Where a cross-border or currency-converted bank payout is supported, the payment provider may charge for that payout. The seller bears the actual provider charge; RenX adds no withdrawal markup. A payout cost is different from the processing fee on the buyer’s card and may be recorded when money is sent to the bank rather than when a single task is funded. See when providers receive payment and Stripe’s published payout pricing.
There is no one cross-border percentage that applies to every RenX task. Review the final checkout amount, transaction record, and payout record for the charges that actually apply.
