How does Australian GST work on RenX?

Does RenX collect Australian GST?

Yes, where Australian rules require it. Australia may require 10% GST on Marketplace services supplied to an Australian buyer.

What determines whether GST applies?

The treatment depends on the transaction, the buyer’s approved information, the provider’s location, and the parties’ GST registrations.

Keep your Australian billing address current. If you purchase for a business, select the business-purchase option and provide the requested ABN and GST-registration information. An ABN by itself does not prove that the business is registered for GST or make every purchase GST-free.

What should service providers do?

Keep your Australian establishment, ABN, and GST registration current. You remain responsible for determining whether you must register for GST, report Marketplace income, or issue any records required from you.

For a service supplied from outside Australia, RenX may be required to collect GST as the marketplace. The result is determined for the actual transaction rather than solely from the provider’s country.

How can I see how much GST is charged?

RenX shows the estimated GST before payment. The charged amount appears on the buyer’s invoice or receipt and relevant provider tax and fee entries appear in the settlement record.

See cross-border tax on RenX and where to find financial records.
