How does European Union VAT work on RenX?

Does RenX collect EU VAT?

Yes, where the rules for the transaction require it. VAT rates and requirements vary between EU member states.

What determines whether VAT applies?

RenX uses the country where the buyer belongs, the provider’s location, the service category, business use, and verified VAT information.

Keep your billing and tax country current. If you are purchasing for a VAT-registered business, select the business-purchase option and provide a valid VAT ID when requested. A verified VAT ID may support reverse-charge treatment for an eligible cross-border business purchase, but it does not make every RenX charge VAT-free.

RenX shows any VAT it must collect and the final total before you pay. The invoice or receipt records the treatment used for that payment.

What should service providers do?

Keep your country of establishment and VAT registrations current. You remain responsible for local registration, reporting, invoice, and income-tax obligations, including any reverse-charge wording or records required in your country.

VAT treatment for the RenX provider fee is separate from VAT on the underlying work. Review the platform-fee invoice and settlement record for the amounts applied to each.

What if the other party is outside the EU?

Cross-border treatment depends on both parties and the service. RenX calculates the supported transaction using the information for that task rather than assuming that all exports are zero-rated or that all imports use reverse charge.

How can I see how much VAT is charged?

RenX shows the estimated VAT before payment. The charged amount and the treatment used for that payment appear on the invoice or receipt. Provider fee tax appears separately in the provider’s records.
