How does United Kingdom VAT work on RenX?

Does RenX collect UK VAT?

Yes, where UK rules require it. VAT may apply to Marketplace services and to fees charged by RenX. The standard UK VAT rate is currently 20% where it applies.

What determines whether VAT applies?

RenX uses your approved UK billing and tax information together with the provider’s location and the service category. For a UK purchase, review the VAT and final total shown before funding the task.

If you are purchasing for a VAT-registered business, select the business-purchase option and provide a valid UK VAT number when requested. Business status or a VAT number may change the treatment of a cross-border service, but neither automatically removes VAT from every charge.

What should service providers do?

Keep your UK establishment details and VAT registration current. You remain responsible for deciding whether you must register, account for VAT, issue any seller invoice required by law, and report your Marketplace income.

VAT may also apply to the RenX provider fee. Your settlement record and platform-fee invoice show the amounts RenX recorded for that transaction.

How can I see how much VAT is charged?

Buyers see the estimated VAT before payment and the charged amount on the invoice or receipt. Providers see relevant tax and fee entries in the task settlement record.

See cross-border tax on RenX and tax on the provider fee.

For current standard and reduced VAT rates, see GOV.UK VAT rates.
