How does United States sales tax work on RenX?
Does RenX collect US sales tax?
Yes, where state or local rules require it. Sales tax may apply to Marketplace work or to charges from RenX.
How is the rate determined?
Not every state taxes the same services. The rate can depend on the buyer’s state, county, and city, the service category, tax-exempt status, and, in some cases, the provider’s location.
Keep your billing address and state current. RenX uses the transaction details to calculate any sales tax it is required to collect. The final tax is assessed when you fund the task, so it may differ from an earlier estimate if the address, service, or applicable rules change.
How can I see how much sales tax is charged?
You see the estimated sales tax and final total before payment. The charged amount appears as a separate item on the invoice or receipt.
What should service providers do?
Keep your business location and tax registrations current. RenX may collect sales tax where marketplace rules require it, but you remain responsible for seller-side registrations, gross-receipts taxes, income taxes, or other obligations that are not collected through the transaction.
A transaction showing no RenX sales tax is not confirmation that no other tax obligation exists. Because rates and rules change across state and local jurisdictions, check the relevant tax authority or a qualified adviser for your own obligations.
See cross-border tax on RenX and where to find financial records.
For participating states’ taxability rules, see the Streamlined Sales Tax state matrices; check the relevant state or local tax authority for a specific transaction.
